Job Opportunity: CAM Is Hiring a Jewish American Heritage Coordinator

The Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) is a global coalition engaging 900 partner organizations and five million people from a diverse array of religious, political, and cultural backgrounds in the common mission of fighting the world’s oldest hatred.

CAM seeks a Jewish American Heritage Coordinator to lead educational initiatives celebrating Jewish American heritage as a pro-active and uplifting means to counter antisemitism. The role offers a dynamic opportunity to engage with students and educators across the United States to deepen popular appreciation of the Jewish contribution to American society and humanity.

Position Overview:

The Jewish American Heritage Coordinator will implement and manage innovative educational programs to grow popular awareness of transformative Jewish contributions to American society. The coordinator will promote the adoption of CAM’s unique curriculum on Jewish American heritage in schools and communities across the United States, engaging with educators, school administrators, community organizations, and cultural institutions. The coordinator will also deploy CAM Creative Contests on Jewish Heritage, designed to inspire young Americans of all backgrounds to explore Jewish American heritage. Additionally, the coordinator will work help create engaging content on Jewish American heritage for CAM events, social media, and media engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curriculum Deployment in Schools:

— Collaborate with educators, school administrators, and community organizations to integrate CAM’s Jewish heritage curriculum into K-12 and higher education settings.

— Work with teachers and educational associations to ensure the curriculum is effectively implemented and adapted to meet local educational requirements.

2. Contest Coordination and Events Management:

— Lead the deployment of CAM creative contests on Jewish American Heritage across various states and cities in the U.S., ensuring robust participation and engagement.

— Coordinate with local partners to promote and execute contest initiatives.

— Organize local prize ceremonies during Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) featuring winners and civic leaders.

3. Educational Program Development and Implementation:

— Design and implement innovative educational programs that highlight Jewish American heritage, history, and cultural contributions.

— Organize workshops, seminars, and events that deepen the understanding of Jewish contributions to humanity.

4. Content Creation and Digital Outreach:

— Serve as the primary point of contact for all departments regarding Jewish American heritage events and content.

— Collaborate with the CAM team to create compelling content on Jewish heritage for events, social media, media engagements, and the CAM website.

Qualifications:

— Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, Jewish studies, history, or a related field; a minimum of 3 years of experience in educational program coordination, preferably within the nonprofit or Jewish communal sectors.

— Expertise: Strong understanding of Jewish heritage, culture, and history; familiarity with the challenges of antisemitism; proven experience in curriculum deployment and educational outreach.

— Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, and public speaking skills; demonstrated ability in building and managing partnerships; proficiency with social media and digital communication a plus.

— Location & Travel: Preferably based on the East Coast or Midwest, with a willingness to travel up to 30% for events, workshops, and community engagement activities.

Reporting Structure:

The Coordinator reports directly to CAM’s CEO and works closely with senior organizational leaders.
