Job Opportunity: CAM Is Hiring a Jewish American Heritage Coordinator

The Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) is a global coalition engaging 900 partner organizations and five million people from a diverse array of religious, political, and cultural backgrounds in the common mission of fighting the world’s oldest hatred.

CAM seeks a Jewish American Heritage Coordinator to lead advocacy initiatives promoting the celebration and teaching of Jewish American heritage as a pro-active and uplifting means to counter modern-day antisemitism. The role offers a dynamic opportunity to engage with political leaders, community activists, school administrators, teachers, and students across the United States to grow awareness and appreciation of the integral and transformative role Jews have played in American history.

Position Overview:

The Jewish American Heritage Coordinator will devise, implement, and manage innovative programs to deepen understanding of Jewish contributions to U.S. society. The coordinator will engage with relevant decision makers and stakeholders throughout the country to promote widespread adoption of CAM’s unique Jewish American heritage curriculum. The coordinator will also organize and run CAM creative contests on Jewish heritage, designed to inspire young Americans of all backgrounds to explore the topic in a meaningful and impactful manner. Additionally, the coordinator will help create informative content on Jewish American heritage for CAM events, social media posts campaigns, and traditional media materials.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Development and Implementation:

— Design and implement programs highlighting and celebrating Jewish American heritage, history, and culture.

— Organize educational workshops, seminars, and events that foster greater understanding of Jewish contributions to American society.

2. Contest Coordination and Events Management:

— Lead the development of CAM Jewish American heritage creative contests, prioritizing robust participation.

— Coordinate with local partners to promote and execute contest initiatives.

— Organize local prize ceremonies during Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) featuring contest winners and civic leaders.

3. Curriculum Adoption in Schools:

— Engage and mobilize school administrators, teachers, and community organizations to integrate CAM’s Jewish American heritage curriculum into K-12 and higher education settings.

— Collaborate with relevant decision makers and stakeholders to ensure the curriculum is adapted to meet local requirements and circumstances and effectively implemented.

4. Content Creation and Digital Outreach:

— Serve as the primary point of contact for all CAM departments regarding Jewish American heritage events and content.

— Collaborate with the CAM team to create compelling content on Jewish heritage for events, social media posts and campaigns, traditional media materials, and the CAM website.

Qualifications:

— Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or higher; a minimum of 3 years of advocacy and political engagement work, preferably in the nonprofit and/or Jewish communal sectors.

— Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Jewish American heritage, culture, and history; familiarity with the challenges of contemporary antisemitism.

— Skills: Excellent organizational, communication, public speaking, and networking skills; demonstrated ability in building and managing partnerships; and proficiency with social media and digital communication is a plus.

— Location & Travel: Preferably based on the East Coast or Midwest, with a willingness to travel up to 30% for events, workshops, and community engagement activities.

The Coordinator reports directly to CAM’s CEO and works closely with senior organizational leaders.
