Job Opportunity: CAM Is Hiring a Writer and Editorial Assistant

The Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) is a global coalition engaging 900 partner organizations and five million people from a diverse array of religious, political, and cultural backgrounds in the common mission of fighting the world’s oldest hatred.

Position Overview:

CAM is seeking an ambitious and talented individual to join our growing team as a Writer and Editorial Assistant. In this role, you will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief to craft compelling written content that engages diverse audiences and advances CAM’s mission.

This will involve researching, writing, and editing articles, reports, social media posts, and internal and external communications. You also help shape content strategy and collaborate with CAM team members across the globe to amplify the organization’s work.

The ideal candidate will have strong writing and storytelling skills, the ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, convincing, and impactful messaging, and a passion for Jewish advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Coordinate, research, and write CAM website content, as assigned and directed by the Editor-in-Chief.
    • Generate and suggest new ideas for CAM website content.
    • Monitor and track events organized and sponsored by CAM, compile images and quotes from relevant POCs, and write post-event summaries.
    • Set up, conduct, and transcribe interviews with policymakers, activists, partners, and other stakeholders in the fight against antisemitism.
    • Draft texts for internal and external communications, as assigned and directed by the Editor-in-Chief and CAM management team members.
    • Create written content for CAM’s social media platforms, as assigned and directed by the Editor-in-Chief and Chief Marketing Officer.
    • Ad-hoc responsibilities as requested by the Editor-in-Chief and other CAM management team members.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or higher in journalism, international relations, political science, or a related liberal arts field; proven writing experience, ideally including on Jewish or Israel-related topics.
  • Expertise: In-depth familiarity with antisemitism issues, Jewish history, and the contemporary global Jewish landscape.
  • Skills: Mother tongue English; excellent writing, communication, and organizations skills; social media and website management experience, as well as knowledge of Hebrew, are a plus.
  • Location & Travel: Remote, preferably based in North America or Israel, with a willingness to travel for CAM’s needs from time to time.

Reporting Structure:

The Writer and Editorial Assistant will report directly to CAM’s Editor-in-Chief.
