Pulitzer Winner Mosab Abu Toha Spreads Antisemitic Lies. Revoke His Prize.

Status: Active

On October 7, 2023, Emily Damari was shot twice and abducted from her home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza by Hamas terrorists. For nearly 500 days, she endured starvation, abuse, and relentless psychological torment in captivity.

But for The New Yorker contributor Mosab Abu Toha, a 2025 Pulitzer Prize recipient, Emily’s suffering isn’t just something to ignore. It must be denied.

Abu Toha openly dismissed the reality of Israeli hostages, writing: “How on earth is this girl called a hostage?” He questioned the facts of the brutal murder of the Bibas family. He labeled Israelis celebrating Hanukkah “terror soldiers,” claiming this was “what true antisemitism looks like.” He spread the thoroughly debunked lie that Israel bombed the Al-Ahli Hospital — well after evidence proved otherwise. And he compared the Holocaust to what he called a genocide in Gaza — implying that the situation in Gaza was even worse.

This is not journalism. It is hate masquerading as commentary — an orchestrated campaign to distort facts, erase victims, and inflame division.

And yet, the Pulitzer Board chose to honor him.

By awarding Abu Toha, the Board betrayed the very principles the Pulitzer Prize is meant to uphold: truth, integrity, and moral clarity. In doing so, it handed a global platform to someone who mocks survivors and desecrates the memory of the murdered, the kidnapped, and the brutalized.

This is a stain on the Pulitzer’s legacy — and it must be undone.

Join the call for the Pulitzer Board to rescind Mosab Abu Toha’s award and issue a public apology to 10/7 survivors, including Emily Damari.

We demand:

  • An immediate revocation of Mosab Abu Toha’s Pulitzer Prize
  • A public apology to survivors whose trauma has been denied
  • A rigorous vetting of future nominees’ public statements and affiliations
  • The inclusion of hostages and their families in future decision-making processes

Stand with Emily. Stand for every hostage. Stand for truth.
