Dear friends, I am writing to you in the wake of yesterday’s heartbreaking rocket attack in the northern Israeli community of Majdal Shams.
It was a typical Saturday afternoon in the Druze town, with dozens of innocent children playing soccer. Suddenly, sirens blared, signaling an imminent threat. But before the kids could reach safety, a Hezbollah rocket struck the field, killing 12 of them, and wounding 30 others. Among the dead were four brothers from the same family. This deliberate attack against civilians was an egregious crime against humanity.
Much like the horrors of October 7, this tragic event has left a painful and indelible mark on our hearts and minds. The families affected are experiencing unimaginable sorrow and loss. Parents have lost their beloved sons and daughters, children have lost their playmates, and an entire community, and nation, have been left reeling and grieving.
After such a tragedy, we have a duty to come together and provide support to those impacted. This is why the Combat Antisemitism Movement has launched a donation campaign to directly assist the families of the victims. Every donation will be distributed to the loved ones of the children who were killed and injured.
Together, we can demonstrate that even in the darkest moments, there is compassion and solidarity.
Thank you for your kindness and benevolence.
— Sacha Roytman, Chief Executive Officer, Combat Antisemitism Movement
