Jewish Students at University of Bristol in UK Demand Punishment for Anti-Semitic Professor
Jewish students at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom will hold a virtual rally on Wednesday to demand the school take disciplinary action against Professor David Miller after his latest anti-Semitic remarks.
During a Zoom event earlier this month, Miller — a sociology professor — called for an “end of Zionism” and claimed Israel was “trying to exert its will all over the world.”
Last year, Miller was suspended from and later quit the UK Labour Party after asserting its new leader, Sir Keir Starmer, had taken money from “the Zionist movement.”
Previously, a complaint was filed against Miller for teaching students that Zionism was one of the “five pillars of Islamophobia.”
Wednesday’s demonstration is being organized by the Union of Jewish Students (UJS).
A Change.org petition urging Miller be held accountable for his anti-Semitism had gained over 4,000 signatures as of Tuesday.
