In the programme, Mr McCarthy says his life was shattered by alleged threats against his family by enemies of the former Labour leader. He tells the producers he still fears for their safety. But the Gnasher Jew online investigation unit claims that digital analysis suggests he was behind a Twitter account called Truth and Justice. Its posts included claims that “Zionists worked hand in hand with Nazis to send innocent Jews to their deaths… then worked to establish the racist state of Israel”; that “Jews are gassing people in Gaza”; and that the Board of Deputies “actively supports racists, fascists and antisemites”.

By i24 NEWS

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) published a report citing 359 anti-Israel and antisemitic incidents that occurred on American campuses in the 2021-2022 academic year. The incidents range from claiming Israel was guilty of “genocide” to banning students from organizations over support for Israel and Zionism. “The antisemitic vitriol directed at pro-Israel students is deeply unsettling and makes our colleges and universities feel less safe and secure for Jewish students,” the head of the ADL, Jonathan Greenblatt, said in a statement. The report specified that the majority of the incidents, while clearly antisemitic in intent, were couched in the language of anti-Zionism and support for Palestinian rights.

Q&A: THIS BERKELEY PROF STUDIES HOW PERSONAL STORIES CAN COMBAT ANTISEMITISM

By MAYA MIRSKY

David Broockman, 33, of San Francisco, has been studying stories for almost 10 years. The associate professor of political science at UC Berkeley researches how specific, personal narratives, told face to face, can help sway minds on highly divisive political issues – or, to put it shortly, how human connections may be the key to reducing bias. In September, Broockman and his research partner, Joshua Kalla of Yale University, were among 10 people selected for the inaugural cohort of the Anti-Defamation League’s Center for Antisemitism research fellowships. The fellowship, with a stipend of $10,000 to $30,000 per project, will allow them to expand their research to study what kinds of stories can alleviate antisemitism
