This week, we continued to monitor antisemitism around the world while advocating for more actions to be made.
DoorDash Deactivates Driver Over Staged Refusal to Deliver to Home With Israeli Flag
A DoorDash driver in Michigan filmed herself refusing to deliver food to a home displaying an Israeli flag. After CAM drew attention to the footage on social media, DoorDash responded, “Discrimination of any kind has no place in our community, and we deactivated this Dasher’s account for violating our community guidelines. Based on our investigation, this was staged, and no customer order was involved.”
Other incidents tracked by the Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM worldwide this week included:
- Canada: A vandal smashed a window at Temple Emanu-El-Beth Sholom and tried to start a fire, marking the second attack on the prominent Montreal synagogue in the past year and a half.
- United States: A group of Jewish men were accosted on a street in New Haven, Connecticut, by an assailant shouting, “Go back where you belong, baby killers.”
- United Kingdom: Two Jewish guests found identical “Free Palestine” messages displayed on televisions in separate rooms at a Travelodge in London.
Of the 126 antisemitic incidents monitored by the ARC this week that were attributable to a specific ideology:
- 66 (52.4%) were Far-Left, 39 (31%) Islamist-Inspired, and 21 (16.7%) Far-Right.
