In response to the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) putting off a vote called for by Palestinian Football Association (PFA) to ban Israel from international competition last week, the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) and Lord John Mann — UK Government Advisor on Antisemitism and CAM Advisory Board Member — issued the following statements:

“It is unconscionable for the PFA, led by convicted terrorist Jibril Rajoub, to demand that Israel be excluded from FIFA when it was Israel that faced an unprovoked attack on October 7 that killed thousands of its civilians and saw hundreds taken hostage,” said Sacha Roytman, CEO of CAM. “This type of double standard only contributes to further attempts to isolate Israel and perpetuate antisemitic misinformation.”

Lord Mann commented, “The PFA’s attempt to ban the IFA from international competition is a clear attempt to unfairly target Israel and encourage antisemitism in the sport of football. We call on FIFA to take a stand to show that there is no tolerance for antisemitism in international football.”
