The nationwide civil unrest that erupted in France this weekend offered the latest example of a recurring global trend monitored by CAM’s Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) in recent months.
As anti-government rioters swept through French streets, clashing with police and vandalizing buildings, including a synagogue, antisemitic narratives quickly took hold online, blaming the crisis on Jews and Israel.
Over a two-day period, the ARC documented 1,384 such posts from 816 unique accounts. The most common terminology variants included: Jewish elite orchestration, Israel/Mossad orchestration, Zionist manipulation, “Pro-Israel accounts are behind it,” Kalergi/Great Replacement, Rothschild/ZOG/money, and “Who benefits.”

The same phenomenon was tracked by the ARC earlier this year following the Ceuta border breach, the 25th anniversary of the September 11th attacks, and the thwarted hijacking of an Israel-bound FlyDubai flight.
“Once again, with the unfolding situation in France, we are seeing the rapid and systematic exploitation of a news event by antisemites to spread conspiracy theories against Jews and Israel,” CAM Editor-in-Chief Barney Breen-Portnoy said. “The ARC’s research offers further evidence of a well-worn script used to repackage age-old antisemitic hatred for a vast modern-day digital audience.”
Methodology note: The ARC collected 18,381 posts from X using 25 search queries in 7 languages. Any post linking the unrest to Jews, Israel, Zionists, or the Mossad was counted as antisemitic.
Researchers read all 4,922 candidate text groups by hand and reviewed the 100 most-viewed posts individually. Other tags come from keyword rules and are indicative. 20 posts (234,860 views) are flagged as possible false positives. Keyword search misses posts that use only coded language, so all counts are a minimum.
