The Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) and B’nai B’rith International are coming together on Thursday, April 11, to recognize OAS Secretary-General Luis Almagro’s work over the past decade to fight hatred and antisemitism and foster an environment of tolerance and respect across the Americas.
During Almagro’s tenure, he has spearheaded efforts to safeguard the region from extremism that fuels antisemitism and other forms of hate, allowing Jewish communities in the Americas to flourish.
The symposium — to be held at the OAS headquarters in Washington, D.C. — will not only honor Almagro, but also serve as a call to continue working to ensure that the rights and contributions of all citizens, including the Jewish communities across the Western Hemisphere, are recognized, protected, and celebrated.
The event will feature the following speakers:
- Luis Almagro, Secretary-General of the Organization of American States
- Robert Singer, Member of the CAM Board of Governors
- Daniel Mariaschin, CEO of B’nai B’rith International
- Pilar Rahola, Spanish Journalist and Chair of CAM Advisory Board for Latin America
- Members of U.S. Congress (TBD)
- U.S. State Department Representative (TBD)
