Demonstrations in New York City on Thursday coinciding with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s United Nations General Assembly address featured open expressions of antisemitic hatred and incitement, as well as anti-American rhetoric.
CAM’s Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) closely monitored the protests, and a sampling of what it documented is available below.
The size, coordination, and unified messaging of the protests raised important questions — Who is funding and organizing them? Are foreign or state-linked actors involved?
These questions must investigated and answered.
The ARC published an in-depth analysis last year of both novel and historically-repurposed symbols that have been co-opted and disseminated in the aftermath of the October 7th massacre to demonize Israel and Jews, and many of these symbols were seen on the streets of New York City yesterday.
As we monitor yesterday’s demonstration in New York City, which included deeply antisemitic rhetoric and imagery, one question becomes increasingly urgent: who is funding and organizing this?
