At a demonstration in the western German city of Dusseldorf over the weekend, protesters called for Israel’s violent destruction, glorified Hamas, and expressed solidarity with the Iranian regime.
One demonstrator was even observed wearing a green Hamas-style headband, showing open support for the European Union-designated terrorist organization.
Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) Executive Director of European Affairs Shannon Seban went undercover to document Saturday’s protest firsthand, interviewing participants.

In a letter sent to Police President of Düsseldorf Miriam Brauns on Sunday, Seban raised alarm over the “deeply concerning incidents” she had seen the day before.
“What I witnessed went far beyond legitimate criticism of Israel or peaceful advocacy for the Palestinian cause,” Seban wrote, noting the following examples:
— the display of the flag of the Islamic Republic of Iran
— repeated calls for “Intifada”
— rhetoric calling for the eradication of “Zionists”
— statements glorifying or legitimizing Hamas and terrorist violence
— a woman openly and proudly wearing a Hamas-style headband
“Freedom of expression and the right to demonstrate are fundamental principles of our democracies, but they cannot serve as a shield for terrorist propaganda, prohibited symbols or incitement to violence,” she emphasized.
Seban noted that”public use of symbols of prohibited organizations” could represent a violation of Section 86a of the German Criminal Code.
She identified the headband-wearing woman as Nele Ben Salah, whose Instagram handle is @beauhealth_nele.
A total of 2,962 antisemitic incidents were monitored across Europe by CAM’s Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) in 2025, nearly a 50% rise from 2024.
