Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) Director of Latin American Affairs Shay Salamon visited Washington, D.C., last week for a series of speaking appearances and high-level meetings.
Addressing the annual conference of the National Hispanic Pastors Alliance (NAHPA), Salamon called on the audience of clergy members, community leaders, and influencers from across the United States to “confront antisemitism, take responsibility, and refuse to remain silent in the face of hate.”

Salamon also announced the launch of CAM’s “One Nation Under God” campaign, the goal of which he said was to “defend religious freedom and every person’s right to live their faith openly and without fear.”
While visiting the U.S. Senate on Capitol Hill with the NAHPA pastors, Salamon was honored to deliver a blessing for peace.
CAM extends special thanks to NAHPA Founder and CEO Pastor Carlos Duran for the invitation to join this important forum and his unwavering commitment to building bridges between the Hispanic community, the Jewish people, and the State of Israel.
During his time in the American capital, Salamon also had the opportunity to sit down with Deputy Assistant to the President and Faith Director at the White House Faith Office Jennifer Korn.
Additionally, Salamon met with Director of the Department of Access to Rights at the Organization of American States (OAS) Secretariat for Strengthening Democracy Claudia González and OAS Commissioner for Monitoring and Combating Antisemitism Fernando Lottenberg to discuss proposals and initiatives aimed at strengthening collaboration between the CAM and OAS in efforts to prevent and fight antisemitism across Latin America.
“In the face of antisemitism, discrimination, and hate, silence is not an option,” Salamon said. “We need leadership, cooperation, and action. We will continue to bring this message to new arenas and gain new allies.”
Salamon’s U.S. visit came two weeks after the sixth-annual Latin American Forum Against Antisemitism, hosted by CAM en Español in Santo Domingo, where President Luis Abinader announced the Dominican Republic’s adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism.
CAM’s outreach in Latin America began more than five years ago, and since then it has worked diligently to build meaningful partnerships and friendships with influential leaders, legislators, diplomats, community organizations, and civil society activists from a diverse assortment of religious, political and cultural backgrounds in the region to combat antisemitism together.
During this time, CAM en Español has emerged as a key player in the battle against Jew-hatred in Latin America, with a growing coalition involved in impactful activities in countries including Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Panama, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico, Ecuador, Bolivia, Honduras, Paraguay, and the Dominican Republic, among others.
CAM en Español has organized regional summits in the Dominican Republic in 2026, Brazil in 2025, Costa Rica in 2024, Uruguay in 2023, Panama in 2022, and Guatemala in 2021.
