Ahead of Super Bowl LVIII this weekend, a digital video drawing attention to the 136 hostages still held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip following the October 7th attack in Israel was published on Thursday.
The video shows a football-shaped blimp with the message — “It’s not a game. Bring them home!” — appearing to fly over 6th Avenue in Manhattan.
“A yellow football floats above the New York skyline in anticipation of the upcoming 2024 Super Bowl this Sunday,” the Instagram post featuring the video said. “As we’re waiting for the game, let us also remember that over 125 days, four months, have passed since October 7th, when 136 innocent Israelis were kidnapped and are still being held captive in Gaza by Hamas.”
“As you cheer for your team, we hope you can take a moment to support the only just outcome: the immediate release of all the Israeli hostages. They don’t deserve to be there,” it added. “This digital artwork is a constant reminder of our commitment to bringing them home.”
A similar video was filmed last month to mark the first birthday of Kfir Bibas, the youngest Israeli kidnapped by Hamas.
