‘Jews — Into the Oven’ Graffiti Latest in String of Kyiv Antisemitism Vandalism Incidents

Antisemitic graffiti was recently discovered in Kyiv’s Park of Partisan Glory, the United Jewish Community of Ukraine announced last week.

An unidentified vandal spray-painted on a wall the phrases “Jews — into the oven” and “Happy Holocoust [sic],” as well as a Star of David hanging from a gallows.

Earlier this month, an inscription referring to “Jewish power” was found in the Ukrainian capital’s Goloseevsky Park, and there have been several other antisemitic vandalism incidents in the city in recent years.

The United Jewish Community of Ukraine urged police to investigate the incidents.

Also in August, in the central Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk, the grave of Sarah — daughter of the late revered Hasidic leader Rabbi Nachman of Breslov — was badly desecrated with pig body parts.

In the incident, the headstone was also reportedly broken, with heaps of skeletal pig remains — including a skull — found near its base.

This came just months after bullet holes were found at the synagogue in Kremenchuk.
