Nova music festival survivor and Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) Public Affairs Officer Natalie Sanandaji was bestowed the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s “Medal of Valor” at the 2024 Humanitarian Award Dinner in New York City on Thursday.
“I am humbled and honored to receive the Medal of Valor from the Simon Wiesenthal Center,” Sanandaji said. “This recognition is not just for me, but for all those who stood together during one of the darkest days in Jewish history since the Holocaust.”
“As we draw closer to the one-year anniversary of the October 7th terror attack, I find myself reflecting on that horrific day and the unimaginable circumstances we faced,” she added. “As I think back to the beginning of this war, I remember my thoughts about what the world would look like by now. I never imagined we would still be grappling with the pain of over one hundred hostages held captive in Gaza. I never expected to mourn the loss of over seven hundred brave soldiers who sacrificed everything for our safety and freedom.”
Sanandaji concluded, “At this moment, I would like to ask everyone to join me in a moment of silence for all those we have lost and for those who are still unaccounted for — those we are praying will return safely to their families.”
Also receiving the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s “Medal of Valor”on Thursday was Holocaust survivor Dolly Rabinovich.
