Three Gulf States Reach Out To Israel For Help Battling COVID-19

According to the Times of Israel, three Arab Gulf nations are seeking help from Israel in battling the COVID-19 pandemic in their countries. One of these states in particular, is seeking Israel’s assistance in installing an advanced telemedicine system in its country to help confront the coronavirus crisis.

Representatives from the Kingdoms of Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates have been in regular contact with Israel’s Sheba Medical Center. A high-ranking member of the Emirati Royal family visited the Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan, Israel in March and has remained in contact ever since. The third country, which is likely Kuwait, is not known to have had warming ties with the Jewish State previously, as have Bahrain and the Emirates.

Many commentators observe that increased healthcare and economic collaboration between Israel and its Arab neighbors could be the precursor to an eventual warming in diplomatic relations.
