Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) CEO Sacha Roytman issued the following statement for Wednesday’s third anniversary of the October 7th massacre:

“Three years ago today, nearly 1,200 people were murdered in the deadliest massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. Innocent men, women, and children of all ages were slaughtered in a Hamas-orchestrated orgy of brutality that shocked the global conscience. More than 250 others were abducted and dragged into Gaza, where 1/3 perished.”

“Three years later, the memories of that terrible day remain raw for Israelis and the Jewish people worldwide. For the families who lost loved ones, for the survivors whose lives were forever changed, and for the hostages who endured unimaginable hardships, October 7th is not history. It is a living trauma.”

“But October 7th was not only an attack on Israel and the Jewish people. It was an attack on humanity itself. The attacks exposed, once again, the genocidal hatred that drives Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Hamas and the Palestinian national movement, the central role of the Iranian regime in sowing regional violence through its terrorist proxies, and the deadly consequences of allowing antisemitism and extremism to fester unchecked.”

“Three years on, we must also confront another disturbing reality — the systematic effort to deny, distort, minimize, or justify the atrocities of October 7th. We cannot allow the passage of time to erode the truth. We cannot permit the killing, kidnapping, torture, rape, and burning of Jews to be sanitized, relativized, or excused. And we must never accept the grotesque notion that violence against Jews can somehow be legitimized by political grievances.”

“Remembering October 7 means standing unequivocally against terrorism, confronting antisemitism wherever it appears, and defending the dignity and security of every human being. It means ensuring that Jewish life is never again treated as expendable and that the world does not look away when Jews are targeted for being Jews.”

“Today, we pay tribute to the victims of October 7th and stand with the survivors. We honor those who demonstrated extraordinary courage in defending and rescuing others in the face of grave peril that day and salute the brave soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces for all they have done over the past three years to guarantee the horrors of October 7th can never be repeated.”

“As October 7th recedes further into the past, our responsibility only grows. We must ensure that future generations know what happened, understand the ideologies that fueled it, and recognize the warning signs before they once again culminate in catastrophe.”

“Three years later, we remember. We tell the truth. We reject antisemitism. And we will never allow October 7th to be forgotten, distorted, or rewritten.”
