During Passover this year, Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen expelled almost all of country’s remaining Jews, a tragic example of contemporary antisemitism.
Meanwhile, the Houthis continue to imprison Levi Salem Musa Marhabi, a Yemenite Jew who was arrested for the supposed “crime” of helping a Jewish family flee abroad and bring a Torah scroll with them.
Levi has been brutally tortured while jailed and is now partially paralyzed.
The Houthi hearts are filled with hatred. While Yemen suffers a humanitarian crisis, the Houthis raise money for terrorist activities and perpetrate mass atrocities.
And now, after persecuting Jews for years, the Houthis are ethnically cleansing Yemen of its ancient Jewish community.
The plight of Yemen’s Jews is too often overlooked and ignored by the international community. Those who claim to stand for marginalized peoples and human rights have failed to act.
Don’t turn away. Don’t close your eyes. And don’t let another group of Jews become forgotten refugees!
