New Hampshire Governor Signs Order Banning State Business With Companies That Support BDS

New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu signed an order on Thursday banning state executive branch agencies from doing business with companies that support the anti-Israel boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement.

Governor Sununu was joined at the signing ceremony at the State Capitol in Concord by Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan and Israeli Consul General to New England Meron Reuben.

“New Hampshire and Israel have experienced decades of successful exchange of commerce, culture, technology, and tourism,” Governor Sununu stated. “New Hampshire will not tolerate antisemitism, and we are taking significant steps at the state level to prohibit discriminatory boycotts of Israel in state procurement and investments.”

Anti-BDS legislation has now been passed in 37 U.S. states, including New Hampshire.

Erdan tweeted, “@ChrisSununu, thank you for boldly rejecting BDS bigotry. Together, we combat discrimination, protect peace, and create economic opportunities for all. The 37 states united against BDS have forged an unbreakable bond. Your unwavering support is truly remarkable.

The executive order was welcomed by Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) CEO Sacha Roytman Dratwa, who commented, “We applaud New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu for his executive order to combat the BDS movement. BDS hostilely targets the State of Israel, seeking to isolate and ultimately destroy the Middle East’s only inclusive democracy. Lasting peace and coexistence will require discourse and engagement, not boycotts and alienation.”
