The Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM tracked a total of 503 reports of antisemitic incidents worldwide in May, marking a daily average of 16.2 — up 263% from the same month last year, as the surge of antisemitism triggered in by the October 7th Hamas massacre in Israel continued to sweep across the globe.
CAM’s Monthly Antisemitism Report classifies incidents of Jew-hatred (including physical assault, verbal harassment, vandalism, and hate speech) into the following categories: Holocaust Denial, Minimization, and Distortion; Classical; Israel-related; Islamist; and Unattributable.
Of May’s incidents, 75.1% (378) were Israel-related, while 6.6% (33) were classical and 3.0% (15) were Holocaust Denial, Minimization, and Distortion. The remainder fell into the the Islamist and Unattributable categories — at 6.8% (34) and 8.5% (43) respectively.
63 incidents of antisemitic vandalism, as well as 55 physical threats against Jews (10.9% of all incidents), including shots fired outside a Jewish girls elementary school in Toronto, Canada, were monitored during the month of May.

Meanwhile, the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy released a comprehensive report — titled “Columbia University: From the Classroom to the Campus – The Normalization of Antisemitism, Anti-Democratic Politics, Marginalization and Intimidation” — shedding light on the rise of antisemitism, anti-democratic ideologies, anti-Americanism, and intimidation tactics at Columbia University. The publication of the report came amid a backdrop of massive and consistent antisemitic protests at Columbia University since October 7th.
