In April 2026, CAM’s Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) documented 35 violent antisemitic incidents globally.
Of the 10 incidents in which an ideological affiliation could be identified, 80% involved Islamist perpetrators. One incident was linked to the far-right and one to the far-left, while 25 incidents could not be conclusively attributed to a specific ideology.
The eight Islamist incidents are as follows:
London: Two Jews Stabbed in Golders Green Terror Attack
On April 29, two Jewish men were seriously wounded in a stabbing attack in the Golders Green neighborhood of London, one of England’s most established Jewish communities. Shomrim patrol volunteers intervened and subdued the 45-year-old assailant. Police later arrived and arrested the suspect on suspicion of attempted murder and officially designated the attack as a terror incident. The two victims, a man in his 70s and another in his 30s, were treated at the scene by Hatzola paramedics before being transported to hospital, where they were reportedly in stable condition. The Iran-linked terrorist group Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia claimed responsibility, stating that “Zionists were targeted by our lone wolves in the Golders Green area of London.”
Azerbaijan: Iran’s IRGC Plots to Bomb Synagogue and Attack Israeli Embassy in Baku
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) planned simultaneous attacks against Jewish and Israeli targets in Azerbaijan, including the Israeli embassy, a synagogue, and Jewish community leaders. The plot also targeted the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, which carries around a third of Israel’s oil imports. Authorities seized seized early eight kilograms of C-4 explosives and detained at least seven Azerbaijani nationals. The cell was identified as part of a broader global Iranian network targeting Jewish and Israeli sites worldwide. ARC recorded the planned attack against the Israeli embassy and the synagogue as two distinct acts of intended Islamist violence within the same case.
Damascus: Hezbollah-Linked Cell Attempts to Assassinate Rabbi
A Hezbollah-linked cell attempted to assassinate Rabbi Michael Khoury in Damascus’s historic Bab Touma district, sending a woman to plant a remote-controlled explosive outside his home. Security forces intervened and dismantled the device before it could detonate. All five cell members were arrested. Preliminary investigations confirmed the cell’s links to Hezbollah and found that its members had received specialized military training abroad, including in bomb-making and remote detonation techniques. Rabbi Khoury was unharmed.
Berlin: Syrian Man Charged With Planning Suicide Knife and Bomb Attack Against Jews
A 23-year-old Syrian man, acting in accordance with Islamic State doctrine, resolved to stab Jews and other non-Muslims in Berlin before detonating himself in a suicide bombing, primarily targeting Jews. He acquired a knife and materials to construct explosive and incendiary devices, communicated with an unidentified contact about the attack, and researched martyrdom and jihad on Telegram and TikTok, sharing Islamic State battle anthems. He was arrested in the Neukölln district in November 2025. On April 22, the Berlin Public Prosecutor’s Office charged him with a terrorist offense, terrorism financing, and four counts of disseminating terrorist propaganda. His asylum status, granted in September 2024, had been revoked in January 2026. The ARC recorded the planned stabbing and the planned suicide bombing as two distinct acts of intended Islamist violence within the same case.
Israeli Border Police Arrest Hamas-Linked Resident in Terror Plot
On April 5, a Hamas-linked 21-year-old Palestinian man from Jericho was arrested for planning a terror attack near the village of al-Mughayir. During a search of the vehicle, officers found a will in the suspect’s name, a document commonly prepared before carrying out a terror attack. His phone contained material praising Hamas and celebrating the October 7, 2023 massacre. He was also a member of WhatsApp groups containing Israelis and IDF soldiers. Israeli Border Police stopped him at a roadblock and transferred him to Shin Bet for questioning.
Istanbul: Gunmen Open Fire Outside Israeli Consulate, One Attacker Killed
On April 7, three gunmen carrying long-barreled weapons opened fire on police outside the building housing the unstaffed Israeli Consulate in Istanbul’s Levent business district. One attacker was killed in the exchange of fire. Two brothers, identified as Onur C. and Enes C., were wounded and captured. Two police officers sustained slight injuries, one shot in the leg, one in the ear. Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci said one of the brothers was affiliated with “an organization that exploits the region.” Turkish media reported a suspected Islamic State connection. Israel’s Foreign Ministry thanked Turkey for its “swift action in thwarting” the assault.
