Mateh Binyamin Regional Council Head Israel Gantz Offers Leadership Insights at European Mayors Summit Against Antisemitism

Israel Gantz — head of the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council in Israel — joined last week’s 2023 European Mayors Summit Against Antisemitism in Dortmund, Germany, via a video message.

Gantz, who has led the Mateh Binyamin Regional Council since 2018, offered insights on how local leaders should manage unexpected crises, such as what communities across Israel have been experiencing in the aftermath of the October 7th Hamas attack.

“A crisis is a risk, but it’s also a huge opportunity,” Gantz noted. “Because after a crisis, you can find much stronger communities, the power of your people, and you can find yourself much more united.
