Leviathan, an X account that says it uses open-source intelligence to identify “Jihadists, Antisemites, Anarchists & other threats” in Canada, posted video of the remarks and identified the speaker as Abbas Hamze. The account described him as “a Master Sessional & Master of Data Analytics Instructor” at the University of Niagara Falls, a faculty lecturer at Georgian College, and a college lecturer at Conestoga College.
Hamze rejected Israel’s legitimacy outright, telling the crowd, “The British colonizers have planted this cancerous, this cancerous, false Zionist state of Israel.” In 1947, the mainstream Jewish leadership, represented by the Jewish Agency, accepted a United Nations plan for independent Jewish and Arab states; Arab leaders rejected it. Israel declared independence the following year and joined the UN in 1949.
Using “Zionists” as a stand-in for Jews, Hamze invoked the antisemitic trope that Jews caused their own historic persecution, claiming they “have never had a country of their own because of their mischief” and are “the most kicked-out people in the world for making black magic and horrible things.”
Invoking Jeffrey Epstein, he fused the blood libel with conspiracy theories about Jewish control, alleging that Zionists had seduced world leaders, including Trump, and “raped and killed and eaten children” to “blackmail them and control them.”

In a separate post from May citing alleged social media statements by Hamze, Leviathan wrote that he “also calls for the kidnapping of Israeli hostages, stating that ‘Hamas has the right to take hostages on October 7th 2023,’ while also claiming ‘Hezbollah has the right to assist Hamas on October 8th.'”
The account said the Toronto Police Service had given Hamze “an armed escort” as he “protests at Jewish neighborhoods, schools, and synagogues.”

Richard Robertson, director of Research and Advocacy at B’nai Brith Canada, condemned the remarks. “When classical antisemitic tropes, such as that Jews use ‘black magic’ and eat children, are broadcast in public using a megaphone, there is no ambiguity,” he said. “It is the wilful promotion and public incitement of hate,” he added, calling on Toronto Police to “investigate the incident” and “hold those responsible accountable.”
