The Israel Wine Collection — an initiative launched by the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) — hosted a private wine tasting event last week in Tel Aviv for a visiting delegation of social media influencers visiting Israel on an American Jewish Committee (AJC) Project Interchange fact-finding mission.

The gathering, which served as the delegation’s closing dinner, was held at Hagefen Wine Courtyard in Jaffa.

The delegation heard presentations from two Israeli winemakers, Dror Engelshtein from Underdog Vineyards and Elad Katzh from Agur Winery, as well as CAM Director of Community Engagement Shira Granot, co-founder of the Israel Wine Collection.

Delegation participants included: Xaviaer DuRousseau, Madi Hall, Frank Lagana, Alison Levine, Colie Nuancez, Allison Poirot, Gabriel Poirot, Chelsea Redmond, Alyssa Rosenheck, and Zach Webb.

Earlier in June, CAM hosted a reception in Tel Aviv supporting Israeli wineries impacted by the ongoing war in Gaza and on the northern border.

The event, held at the Dubnov Gallery, highlighted the perseverance of Israel’s wine industry over the past eight months, with speakers sharing personal tales of heroism, and showcased the vital role wine plays in communities across Israel.

“Israel’s rich history in wine-making spans over 3,000 years,” CAM CEO Sacha Roytman tweeted. “From an industry nearly destroyed by centuries of invasions, we have witnessed an extraordinary rebirth. Growing from just 20 wineries in the 1990s to over 400 today, this renaissance is a powerful symbol of our strength and perseverance. It is a story of survival and revival that deserves to be celebrated and cherished. If the media, politicians, and international institutions won’t recognize the atrocities faced by Israel on October 7th, perhaps our wines can tell our stories.”
