Amos Steinberg was born in Prague in 1938. In 1942 he was imprisoned by the Nazis with his parents in the Theresienstadt ghetto. Amos and his mother were separated from his father, who survived the war. The fate of Amos and Ida remained unknown until July 2020, when their story was accidentally discovered during conservation work. The day is not far off when there will be no more Holocaust survivors alive to bear witness. When there are growing voices daring to deny the Holocaust, we must continue to tell stories like Amos’. In honor of Amos’ memory, we must combat anti-Semitism today.
