CAM Coalition Partners Spotlight: Working Together Against Hate

It was an eventful week for the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) coalition, featuring interfaith calls for solidarity and friendship with the Jewish people and young Jews speaking out about the bigotry they experience in their daily lives.

Spotlight

Gen Z Jews: On Thursday, May 12, at 5 PM ET, a webinar co-hosted by CAM and Gen Z Jews will bring young Jewish teens together for a roundtable conversation about their daily experiences with antisemitism and focus on how both Jewish and non-Jewish teens can combat rising Jew-hatred, in all its contemporary manifestations.

Interorthodox Centre of the Church of Greece: In a first-of-its-kind event for the Combat Antisemitism Movement, co-organized with the Interorthodox Centre of the Church of Greece, Greek Orthodox and Jewish leaders gathered to discuss the importance of Easter and Passover in each respective religious tradition. With a special opening statement by the Chief Rabbi of Athens, Rabbi Gabriel Negrin, the program embarked on an engaging journey on the practices and theology behind the cornerstone holidays of both Christianity and Judaism.

Upcoming Events

Canadian Antisemitism Education Foundation (CAEF): The entertainment industry is reif with normalized antisemitism and many artists from across disciplines have either intentionally or unintentionally become associated with it. On Thursday, May 12, at 2 PM ET, CEO of Liberate Art Inc. Lana Melman will speak about her new book Artists Under Fire: The BDS War Against Celebrities, Jews and Israel and her work in the space of fighting antisemitism in the industry.

Arolsen Archives: We will soon live in a world without those who can testify to the horrors of the Holocaust. As a global community, we must hear from survivors while we still can. This Saturday, May 14, at 7 pm CEST, Bernard Offen will share his experiences from the Holocaust to audiences. Registration is free.

Campaigns to Support

Ride For the Living (RFTL) at JCC Krakow: Registration is LIVE for the “back to in-person” Ride for the Living beginning at Auschwitz-Birkenau and ending at JCC Krakow from June 30-July 3. You can also join the ride independently and virtually around the world.

March of the Living Australia: With a special focus in encouraging young adults to participate in the march, MOTL Australia is relaunching its chapter’s in-person participation in the March of the Living in 2023 and will incorporate extra support for young adults ages 18-35 who have been impacted financially by the pandemic at the onset of their careers.
