Anti-Semitic Fliers Found on Homes and Cars in Montana

According to the Times of Israel, anti-Semitic flyers were found scattered around three Montana communities in April. On multiple days last month, Butte, Billings and Livingston citizens awoke to find anti-Semitic fliers on cars and outside of homes.

One of the fliers discovered read, “With Jews You Lose,” and showed a declining line graph representing the “value of a $1 federal reserve note in 1913 dollars.”

That flier was attributed to a group called The Brother Nathanael Foundation, which is based in Idaho, and considered to be a “General Hate” group according to the Southern Poverty Law Center

Local residents also reported that a second flier was found which featured a photo of John F. Kennedy and erroneously included an anti-Semitic quote falsely attributed to him according to the Livingston Enterprise, a local newspaper.

The fliers also referenced the state of Israel and kicking secret societies and Zionists out of the United States, Livingston Police Chief Dale Johnson reported to the Enterprise.

Thankfully, the Gallatin Valley Interfaith Association (GVIA) group — consisting of leaders from many Christian denominations, Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, and other faiths — united to support the Jewish community against the anti-Semitism.

Residents from the three Montana communities responded to the hatred with expressions of solidarity and “not in our town” messages. The slogan was an homage to a grassroots response to anti-Semitic incidents  in the 90s when law enforcement, citizens and local media united against the actions of a few hateful bigots.
