Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) CEO Sacha Roytman issued the following statement on Tuesday, in response to the UN General Assembly speech of French President Emmanuel Macron, who asserted that Hamas had “never been active in the West Bank”:
“The UN General Assembly has long been a theater of the absurd, and French President Emmanuel Macron’s ludicrous claim that Hamas has ‘never been active’ in Judea and Samaria is only the latest act. Europe’s detachment from reality in the Middle East underscores why Israel must ultimately rely only on itself to defend its citizens from Hamas terrorism, wherever it originates, whether from Gaza or from Jenin, Tulkarem, Ramallah, or Hebron.”
