The Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM tracked a total of 531 reports of antisemitic incidents worldwide in March, marking a daily average of 17.1 — up 315% from the same month last year, a direct result of the continuing surge of antisemitism globally in the aftermath of October 7th.
CAM’s Monthly Antisemitism Report classifies incidents of Jew-hatred (including physical assault, verbal harassment, vandalism, and hate speech) into the following categories: Holocaust Denial, Minimization, and Distortion; Classical; Israel-related; Islamist; and Unattributable.
Of March’s incidents, 78.5% (417) were Israel-related, while 8.7% (46) were classical and 2.6% (14) were Holocaust Denial, Minimization, and Distortion. The remainder fell into the the Islamist and Unattributable categories — at 6.8% (36) and 3.4% (18) respectively.
45 incidents of antisemitic vandalism, as well as 32 physical threats against Jews (6.2% of all incidents), including a stabbing attack in Zurich, Switzerland, in which an Orthodox Jewish man was seriously wounded, were monitored during the month of March.
Hundreds gathered in Zurich for a vigil following the brutal stabbing of a member of the city’s Jewish community this weekend.

Data compiled by the ARC showed that a total of 10 entities across the world adopted or endorsed the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism in the first quarter of 2024. These new adoptions, in addition to five retroactive adoptions, brought the global total of IHRA definition adoptions and endorsements to 1,231 as of March 31.
There were two new adoptions in March, by the U.S. state of Indiana and the Brazilian state of São Paulo.
Thank you, @GovHolcomb, for your allyship in the fight against Jew-hatred and your insistence on highlighting the IHRA definition’s important 11 examples. https://t.co/26cL91aJdl
