The Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM tracked a total of 598 reports of antisemitic incidents globally in August, marking a daily average of 19.3 — up 193% from the same month last year, as the reverberations from the October 7th attack in Israel continued to echo across the globe.
CAM’s Monthly Antisemitism Report classifies incidents of Jew-hatred (including physical assault, verbal harassment, vandalism, and hate speech) into the following categories: Holocaust Denial, Minimization, and Distortion; Classical; Israel-related; Islamist; and Unattributable.
Of August’s incidents, 57.2% (342) were Israel-related, while 10.5% (63) were classical and 3.3% (20) were Holocaust Denial, Minimization, and Distortion. The remainder fell into the Islamist and Unattributable categories — at 10.0% (60) and 18.9% (113) respectively.
49 incidents of antisemitic vandalism, as well as 129 physical threats against Jews, including a violent email sent to dozens of Jewish institutions across Canada and a thwarted terror plot targeting the Jewish community of Mendoza, Argentina, were monitored during the month of August.
🚩This morning, a mass email threatened 100+ Jewish institutions, including synagogues and schools, across Canada.
A synagogue has been evacuated, with police anti-terror and hate crimes units consulted.

There was one new adoption of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism in August, by the Brazilian state of Paraná.
In total, 4,132 antisemitic incidents have been tracked by the ARC since the start of 2024:
- Israel-related: 2,848 incidents (68.9%)
- Classical: 440 incidents (10.6%)
